About the ResourcesClass discussions, your textbook, the atlas, and the Washington Post provide a lot of information about world geography and current events, but a great deal more interesting material is available on the Internet. The Internet is particularly valuable for obtaining up-to-date regional news and information, and for finding alternative perspectives on issues you encounter in class, the text, and the Washington Post. This page provides a starting point for you to begin exploring the web for material related to the course. If you find any sources that you think should be included here, please let me know. News SourcesA central focus of Geog 101 is current events. Students are required to read the Washington Post every day, but it's a good idea to read other sources of news as well. The News Sources page contains a selection of English language news sources from around the world to help you get started. 1. It is a very different place if you look at it from the perspective of people in other places, cultures, and socio-economic circumstances than your own. Her are some resources to help you see how others see the world, and how they view us. Survey from The Economist A Nation Apart (November 2003) Various polls from the Pew Global Attitudes Project 2.
